Who We Are
Chi Delta Theta Sorority is an Asian-American interest sorority that was established on October 13, 1989 at the University of California, Santa Barbara by founding mothers Miss Alison Suto-Stripling and Miss Joanne Yamaoka. Over the past thirty years, Chi Delta Theta has expanded to include seven other chapters, one colony, and over 100 active sisters all over California.

The sisters of Chi Delta Theta strive to promote sisterhood, academics, community service, cultural awareness, and social activity in the lives of its members. Together, our goals are to unite Asian clubs and organizations, to educate and enhance the learning of Asian culture to the university community, to encourage interaction between cultural fraternities and sororities, and to provide a support network for our members by developing a special bond of sisterhood, loyalty, and commitment. On May 23rd, 2008, ten ladies from the University of California, Los Angeles were initiated into the sorority. Along with high spirits and commitment to the sisterhood, they worked hard to establish the Zeta Chapter of Chi Delta Theta. Now, over three decades later, the sorority has not only prevailed, it is thriving and the spirit of sisterhood is alive at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Loyola Marymount University, Cal State Long Beach, the University of California at Davis, Cal State Northridge, the University of California at San Diego, and the University of California at Los Angeles.
